when will the internet actually work like it's supposed to?

It is to a degree. It's the users in the world that are having problems.

Stream TV from all over the world is possible but few are doing it because they want to make money and don't want to lose broadcast users.

I, personally, would love to see TV from all over the world, brodcast on the internet as it is over the air or cable.

Right now I read newspapers from around the world and have them linked to my start page.

I research almost exclusively on the interent these days.

I talk with friends daily on the internet.

I network with people over the internet for the last 5 years on projects.

I sell items on the internet, not as much as I'd like to, but then again my name isn't Microsoft, if it was I'd probably do far better in sales!

The internet has put the whole world at my disposal and I've enjoyed this since 1994 back when all you could get was 5 hours of CompuServe.

As soon as they apply the technology that makes pop-ups and banners load so fast to the rest of the web. :-)

In the meantime, a powerful PC with fast broadband helps.

I agree, the Internet cant do my dirty dishes or laundry yet. It is so far behind.

think right now it exceeds what it was originally developed for. Need to be more specific what you expect.
