It's sad, but you didn't kill her. So go for it. Make the office your own. rearrange it so it is all bout you and not your predecessor. Have fun, you deserve it.

The real problem is this person will never be dead! They will always be living to the people that worked with them and you'll be compared to them on a on-going basis.
So, in part, don't worry. They aren't really dead their memory and their legacy lives on. You will just have very big shoes to fill! Are you up to the task! If it's a good job and a nice company, go for it!

It IS creepy, alright. But you didnt kill her, so i guess she wont be coming back to haunt you. I wouldnt worry about it if i were you. What i would be worried about are the living people in the office who will eternally be comparing your work performance to your predecessor. Nobody says bad things about people who are dead, of course.

None of us are irreplaceable. If you can do the job, do it. It's sad that the person died, but the job still needs to be done. If it is a good offer for you, take it. It doesn't make you guilty of her death.

Get over it !! A job is a job. You will soon be bringing something new to the desk, so just be yourself, and I am sure you will do fine.

It happens to everyone sooner or later.
Really what would you want the company to do never rehire someone. I would say just go forward and not worry about it.

People die...that's the way things work. If it wasn't you replacing this person it would be someone else, right? It might as well be you.

the only thing i would be mildly mindful of is resentment from co-workers about you replacing her. other than that...get past the creepy thing. it's not like she died at her desk........right?
