I've believed in Gargoyles for most of my life! I believe that they are here to protect and watch over us, why else are they up high on alot of historical buildings? They believed this as well.

Gargoyles actually got that name because of the sound that they made as they drained water off the roof tops of buildings. They were placed there to ward off evil and served a function of draining roofs of rain water.

The Gargoyles were created by a clan of Vampires called the Tremere, to protect them, but the Gargoyles got away from the Tremere and now protect mortals from the evil in the world, that most mortals aren't aware is all around them.

Anyone who thinks gargoyles are "evil" doesn't understand the history of gargoyles. They are protectors whose purpose is to frighten away evil.

Your right gargoyoles aren't evil. They do protect. They appear evil, to keep evil away. Kind of like scarecrows.
