This is a poll about working. Do you think that managers should have reviews given by their employees (the people they manage)? If they get these reviews, should they affect that manager's salary?

Dragon would like to know what YOU think. Thank you. She apologizes for the seriousness. The next Poll will not be serious.

Absolutely managers should be reveiwed by the employees. A lot of companies already (like the one I work for) do this. The reveiws are a factor in deciding the the rate of increase or bonus the manager should receive but could not regulate a starting salary obviously because that manager has not yet managed those employees. It also can't be/shouldn't be used to attempt to decrease a manager's salary because, for example: what if that manager came into a group of slackers, threw down a hardline policy (that the slackers hated) but productivity was up 300%? The employees (slackers, lol) would rate the manager poorly but the corporate office (of which I am one) would rate that manager highly.

I don't mind serious questions & this is a very good one. I think that this should be implemented immediately. Managers should be reviewed by their employees & this should be instigated by upper management such as Administration. Admin should control & keep track of the reviews & the manager's salary should be adjusted by not only the results of this, but other job performance issues as well.

I believe managers should be subject to twice-a-year reviews by their employees, and yes, it should affect their salary. I'm assuming the employees will be both rational and reasonable in their review, not just say 'boss sux' and let it go at that. Constructive criticism should be given. And the reviews should be anonymous to avoid revenge scenarios!

You're welcome, Dragon Grrl. A serious one don't hurt anyone, once in a while!

It's ok seriousness is good sometimes. It would be a good idea but you have to remember that it's the managers that give our reviews so if we were to give them a bad (but honest) review i'm sure they would seek revenge some way some how

Yes, yes and yes! Managers should be held just as accountable as the rest of us. And Dragon needen't worry about being serious. It happens to the best of us. Watch an episode of Spongebob Squarepants and call me in the morning......it will pass.

Hell yeas they should get evaluated! Could have gotten rid of a few managers that way! It would have been easier than trying to hide the body! hehe:)

Yes, several companies do this already, and I worked at one and I really believe it makes a difference in their behavior. (Farmers Insurance Group Regional Office)
