I did let my finger nails grow so I could shape them in a rounded, more feminine look. When I polish and paint them, sometimes I don't achieve that perfect smooth painted nail?
Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out in this matter?
Thanks in advance

use a base coat,do not under any circumstances shake nail enamel!it causes bubbles and bumps.instead roll the bottle between your palms.once your polish is on and dry,use a top coat.

Maybe are you putting it on to thick?

Buff your nails first. Then make sure and use the fine side of the nail file to smooth out any ratted edges.

Put on a under base, this you can get from Avon.
When that drys

Put on a thin layer of polish, start in the middle of your nail, then one stroke on each side, followed by another stroke in the middle.
Let this dry well.

Then do another coat the same way.
Let this dry well.

After all that you can Finnish with a top coat, or clear nail hardener.

Make sure you have a good nail polish ( I like OPI). Also try painting down the middle of the nail first and then doing the sides. Finish by using a clear top coat.

I have found the best results for perfect nails is to get acrylics at the nail salon, maintained with a fill every two weeks. At the nail salon, a polish application is included with the acrylics and also with a fill. I have a coat of glitter applied over the color, and a clear topcoat over that. It is a fantastic look!

The polish lasts longer on the acrylic nails, up to two weeks, with the professional application.

Lots of women compliment my nails, and they provide a conversational ice-breaker, for meeting new people.
