First subtract 18 from 220 to get 202. Then multiply it by 70% (or 0.70) to get 141.4.

(220 - 18) x 70% = 202 x 70%

202 x 70/100 = 202 x 7/10

202 divide by 10 = 20.2
20.2 x 7 = 141.4

If you have to show how you got there it is:

202/1 x 7/10 = 20.2/1 x 7/1 = 141.4

PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subraction

That is the Order of Operations.

So you do what is in the Parentheses first: 220-18 = 202

To convert 70% to a decimal form, you move the point two spaces to the left, making it into 70/100ths, or .70

202 x .70 = 141.4

Hope this helps!
