Is there any way to check on road conditions of I-15 going to LV from LA? I'm leaving on Dec. 17 and want to check before I leave to find out whether I need to buy chains.

caltrans has a website about road closings www.dot.ca.gov (the dot is dept of transportation) The chp also has an official site that has traffic on it www.chp.ca.gov.

in december you should be safe, but you cna check the cal-trand website just before you leave www.dot.ca.gov
