Light is a very odd thing to try and understand. It behaves as a wave and as a stream of particles...we call this a dual nature. You just have to accept it, really. Light is like nothing else for it has no mass and behaves in two different ways.

Light is quantized, The smallest quantum is a photon. Photons do not have mass. They have energy and momentum. Its confusing that how can a particle have momentum but no mass? It is accepted by quantum physics by experiments.
