It's 5PM on election day and already the claims of "abuse" are flying (from BOTH sides). It's getting ridiculous.
I'd support a national "Citizen I.D." but not because I believe that Dems are bussing illegals to the polls. I just think it'd be helpful, not only to precinct workers, but also to employers, banks, businesses, airlines, etc.... anyplace that would appreciate a more foolproof way to be assured of whom they are dealing with.
But as for our American system of voting, I think we do a pretty good job with the volunteers who work long hours to make our elections the most honest on planet earth.
If you don't agree with that, you've been drinking too much partisan KoolAid. Now take a deep breath and repeat after me: "America is a wonderful country!"

Many will argue it goes against civil liberties, but I'm not really sure how. I'm sure they will conect it to certain groups, such as the homeless not having addresses to register under, or the $$ to pay for a card. If that is the case, I'm sure stipulations could be written into the law.
I think having an ID card would be a great idea. It would stop both parties from being able to scream "voter fraud" with EVERY election. I personally, would like the security.

The reason George Bush is president is because of voter fraud (in Florida), so it works both ways. The reason Democrats oppose picture IDs for voting is that poor people are less likely to vote if this is a requirement. Poor people are less likely to have driver's licenses, social security cards, passports, etc. Since Republicans hate minorities and don't want them to vote anyway, it only makes sense that they would want to put back restrictions on voting (let's not forget the poll tax or requirements that only white land owners could vote).

Since your question was worded with a republican slant, it would make no matter to attempt an answer to it. No matter what is said you have already made up your mind to be supportive of the republican party. Don't get sucked into the republican rhetoric too deeply, the republicans aren't so innocent (referring to the dead people voting claim). The republicans have a long history of illegal voting antics -- remember Watergate?.

I am not against picture ID but I am a liberal--what do you make of that? You know, not all people are blind zombies who accept whatever their political party throws at them. And, by the way, most of the Hispanic immigrants who vote are registered Republican.

This question is asked a lot but NEVER answered by libs. The picture ID solution is the best way to prevent fraud and is non-discriminatory. WTF is wrong with requiring it?
