Has anyone tried those makeup products they show commercials about. I know there's Bare Minerals and others that I would like to try but am not sure if they are worth it....

Hi! I just bought bare minerals makeup a couple of weeks ago and was scouring this website and many others to find out about the product. First off I will say that mineral makeup is awesome! It feels a lot lighter than any other makeup that I've ever tried. That's not to say that you can't feel it because you can, but the difference is amazing. Secondly, I would recommend everyday minerals rather than bare minerals. This is mainly because I found Everyday minerals to be a bit lighter feeling and depending on the formula you get less prone to cause huge oil deposits on your skin. Both makeups have pretty nice coverage for me and i have alot of bad acne scars. Bare Minerals the makeup is alright but I was really disappointed in the fact that in the starter set the makeup jars were not even full size. At Everyday minerals you can get basically the same size, a little larger amount, for much much less! So in that way Bare minerals is expensive. The brushes that they give you however are superb! Overall though I would say to try Everyday minerals instead. There are more options, they offer a free sample, excluding S&H, and they are less expensive without lesser coverage. Good luck and have fun with your mineral makeup!

Bare Escentuals/Minerals is by far the best makeup EVER. I'm on a tight budget too so I understand wondering if they are worth it. Yes they are worth the extra cost, but let me tell you can get them so much cheaper on eBay than if you buy them on QVC or on the informercial.

Second, you don't need to invest in the whole kit, just buy the bare minerals powder foundation. I have found that with just using that, I can use the typical Revlon or Maybelline makeup and it will stay fresh all day without fading.

I live in the deep south where 10 months out of the year, my makeup would normally melt off my face. Not so when I use the Bare Minerals/Escentuals ID makeup.

Hope this helps!

HI! I have been using Bare Minerals for over 2 years. I have tanned skin with big pores and an oily complexion. I love the products. Their face Starter kit is the best. You get alot for your money. i have been using the same kit for over 2 years. With the minerals, a little goes a long way. It may seem like alot of money, 60 bucks- but if used the right way- swirl, buff, tap, it will last for over 3 years. i'm a school teacher and I wear it everyday, even on weekends, and I'm on the same big pot of minerals that i bought 3 years ago. It really improves the clearness and moistuirzation of your skin. Please, just try it. If you don't want to call you can also order it online at sephora.com or their own website. Good luck, let me know how it goes!!

Yes, I use Bare Minerals. I was totally skeptical of it at first because of the infomercials, but once I realized they sell it at Sephora I thought it must be legit, so I tried it. I have tried so many different foundations, and now I have found the one I am sticking with forever. It feels amazing -- meaning I don't feel it at all. And the coverage is great. A couple days after I started wearing it, a woman at work whom I hadn't seen in a while asked me if I just got back from vacation because I looked so good and rested!

It's not cheap, as someone else mentioned, but it is so worth the money and it does last a while.

One other bonus -- if you put it on your lashes before you apply mascara, the mascara really sticks all day long. It's fantastic.

Also, my 16-year-old niece has bad acne. Her dermatologist told her to use only mineral make-up, so you know it must be easy on your skin!

Love it, highly recommend it.

First I have to say that Bare Minerals is awesome. I used it for about three years before moving on to Philosophy Airbrush Makeup (also powder makeup). Second, unless your face is the size of a thumbnail, I have to disagree that a starter kit will last you 3 years when you use it every day...that's ludicrous. It IS only a 9 gram jar of powder...not a bottomless bucket.

That being said, it can be expensive to use and messy, cuz the powder DOES fly everywhere. But that comes with the territory. Coverage wise - it's beautiful, really looks great and has phenomenal staying power.

I have tried Bare Minerals. I did not like it! It was not for me. I think if you have smooth skin it will work for you. But I have dry, irritated skin and I did not like it! It did though give that porcelain look to your face. I would try a sample kit and see if it is good for you. QVC has a 3 product sample kit for under $30.00 for
Bare Minerals. A sample is a good way of trying the products without spending a lot of money on something you may or may not like. It is worth checking out if you want to try it. Good Luck!!!

I HATE makeup.... but I tried Bare Minerals and really love it, it gives light coverage and doesnt look like makeup.....They have two products- the bronzer and the mineral veil that are really great. Try the starter kit, it is reasonably priced and comes with all the brushes.

YES! I tried bare minerals after seeing the infomercial at 3 am once, haha. i ordered the starter kit online. I absolutely love it, i am borderline obsessed with this product! my skin looks like a china doll. its amazing. get the starter kit tho, cuz it comes with a how-to DVD that is necessary to apply it correctly and make it look how its supposed to.

PS you can find the starter kits and most other REAL Bare Minerals products on eBay for much less! Just make sure they are the real thing!

PS AGAIN- Minerals sitting on your face is a lot better than nasty liquid that sinks into your pores!

I've tried Bare Minerals (expensive and over-rated.) Then I tried Everyday Minerals. I love them and they don't make me breakout. Plus if you want to try them they send you free samples. You simply must check it out. You won't be sorry. I can't say enough about the product.
