around the store expecting you to shoplift and he was pretty obvious about it. This happen to me at a Rite Aid store. Would you show anger and confront him, and complain.

Absolutely confront him, Mr E!!! I have had to do that before and believe me they get terribly embarrassed cuz I don't whisper when I approach him or her about it! This is the only way these folks are going to get the message that they need to back off from harassing us minorities or disadvantaged! Look, I am pretty well off, thank God, and I can buy almost anything in the store, but because of my olive skin tone, I get profiled and as a result I end up being harassed! Burns me right off! It's really the store management that is at fault cuz they tell the guard who he should be looking out for! It's so stupid and close-minded to do this to nice, law abiding patrons. I'm so sorry you have to go thru this. White folks have no idea how humiliating this is to us but I don't wish this on anyone, no matter what color you are. I'm sure that poor-looking white folks have been followed around in stores too, I feel for them as well. I hope this will change in my life-time but I don't have much hope. God bless you my friend.

Security guard is just doing his job. You can bet every store you go in either has a security guard watching or the cameras or both. There are some areas that would put retail stores out of business if theft was unchecked. There are places in this country where you have to travel miles to buy a gallon of milk and then it is at a liquor store. You should be glad that the store is trying to reduce theft, if nothing else cheaper prices for you.

i don't think i would confront him personally but i would find the manager and tell him....."i understand your need for security but if he follows everyone around the store like he just did with me, then you are going to lose alot of your business!!! and i for one will never come back into this store since i cannot be comfortable enough to shop without being stared at the whole time"
that is polite and will get your point across!!!!

keep shopping and don't steal anything.

look, i'm hispanic. yes i had my first son when i was 19, yes i had a second one when i was 23, and yes i am pregnant again. but i do recognize there are sterotypes. when i am being followed, i smile, and continue to shop. i am not stealing anything. therefore i have no problem. if i get pulled over, i let them search my vehicle with humor. because i KNOW he will find nothing and send me on my way. i have no anger because i am doing nothing wrong.

I would walk straight up to him/her, open my coat and bag and say, here, have a look. I don't think its right to follow someone around unless you genuinely believe that they are suspicious. A***holes
