Bob Ney, (R - OH) as Chairman of the House Administration Committee, mandated that "french fries" be renamed "freedom fries" on House of Representatives food service menus, to indicate displeasure with France's lack of support for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Ney recently resigned following his October 13, 2006 guilty plea to charges of conspiracy and making false statements in relation to the Jack Abramoff Indian lobbying scandal.

Lol, changing french fries to freedom fries was one the stupider things they have done.

In a way Boy Ney’s decision to rename French fries to “Freedom Fries” underscores exactly what is wrong with the Republican Party. They extol the virtues of freedom loudly, but when they endeavor to express their belief in freedom they focus their energies on trivial displays of patriotism, instead of thinking of what is truly best for this country. And to think, it is Republicans who harp on about the frivioulous spending of tax dollars by Democrats. What could be more frivolous than Bob Ney’s renaming initiative?

So what?

The liberals are all for squashing any sort of conservative statements, yet are supposed to be free to say anything they want without repercussion.

Grow up.
