He would be more of a friend than a pet (he being a bit more intelligent than a domesticated dog, cat, squirrel, pot-bellied pig, rabbit, or budgie.) You would never have broken appliances around the house…he is very handy. He would play board games with you (yo would have to let him win, of course.) Also, forget about trespassers or burglars: that crossbow laser rifle would make quick work of any unwanted attention.

At the risk of sounding like a geek. No, Chewbacca is not and never was a "pet". He and his race were sentient beings. They couldn't speak "English" or "Basic" and looked like walking throw rugs but they were people. A friend, however, yes most definitely a Wookie would be the best friend you ever had.

Yes. Chewbacca would protect you and be your friend and play games with you. Dragon would like Chewbacca for a pet.

Wookies are difficult creatures to handle as pets. Cleanup of shed hair, knowledge of his native language - Shyriiwook, and the galactic-standard language, Basic; and large space needed for home (he is 7.5 feet tall). Chewbacca eats large amounts of sugary sweets.
