It obvious that Troy Smith will win the Heisman award. What I find interesting is that statisitically speaking he is not leading in any category. His numbers are very good but not sensational, you can look at two first year started in McCoy and Booty with as good or better numbers. You can look at Brady Quinn and his numbers are flat out better.
Don't get me wrong he is a good person to win Heisman. He is a winner. I'm just not sure if we can say he is the best QB in the NCAA.

On 2nd look his QB rating is very good and completion % is high. Still he doesn't lead in any statistical category. His yards are not impressive but like someone said he doesn't pass as much.

He does what he needs to do, when he needs to do it. With a running back like Pittman, they are not going to pass the ball all day, especially leading like they have been. Troy makes the best of it when he gets the ball. If we had a lesser running game, his stats would be well over that of Brady.
Isn't Troy's percentage and passer rating higher than Brady?

He's not the best QB in the nation, but he is on the best team in the nation. When you talk Heisman, that's one of the key things that the voters look for. If you look at it historically, you'll see that it's usually the QB of the team that's making a national championship run that wins it. I would say based on Troy Smith's performance against the Illini that he doesn't deserve the Heisman. That was a very meidocre team at best, and they made him look very ordinary. Colt McCoy deserves it more, as he has faced more adversity. How many times now has this freshman QB brought his team from behind to Victory? Against Oklahoma, against Nebraksa, and against Texas Tech. That's what makes a QB great-when he can bring your team back from what looks like certain defeat. Because he is still a freshman, he will get zero attention though. He does have the stats, he has the wins, but he did lose a game, but it was to the #1 team in the country.

the factors states that it is going to the main eminent participant (regarless of checklist) he grew to grow to be into needless to say the main eminent participant in college soccer. He ran and threw for a mixed 51 touchdowns and is the only participant to ever run and throw for 20 tds. He has the utmost of entirety proportion out of each and all of the heisman winners. He has complete precise particularly plenty each week against precise notch opposition (UF is #6 in schedule ability). the a number of canditates all had astonishing undesirable video games like McFadden working for decrease than 40 3 yds on 17 incorporates against Auburn and having a midseason hunch. Daniel struggled mightily against Oklahoma and unlike Tebow and McFadden hasn't play particularly some annoying warring parties. Brennen has had an extraordinary 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, yet handed over some video games only via injuries + he complete a cupcake schedule the total season. McFadden is an stunning participant little question, yet Tebow had the extra suitable effective 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

Troy Smith is the best QB in college football..I think if you put him with Notre Dame or Texas they both would be better teams than they are now..Although watch out for Colt MCcoy I don't think he is as good as Troy yet...But he definitely will be..

i dont think so i mean any QB in the nation would not be a good one if they didnt have a good offence line and the Ohio St has a very experienced team and has a good defence and that makes Troy Smith look good actually

im a little biased because i really like running QBs. if ohio st wins out and become champs then you gotta give smith the heisman. but i dont think smith will be a successful NFL QB.
