The main reason I am voting today is because, as an Alaskan, I want sustainable resource management. Most people outside love to try and tell us what to do with our resources, but they don't realize that only ONE PERCENT of Alaska's land is privately held - the rest is federal or state parks, or owned by the Native corporations. Alaskans overwhelmingly support drilling in ANWR, but outside groups, mainly environmentalists, won't let us. The moron running for governor on the Democratic ticket here screwed our fish and game up completely when he held the office previously. He allowed the feds to take control of a lot of our F&G issues by allowing lawsuits to drop, and he caved under pressure from a radical animal rights group to create a 100 mile hunting and trapping free "buffer zone" around a six million acre park. That buffer zone runs right through the small town of Healy and as a result of this, some Healy residents can't legally shoot a wolf even if the wolf is eating their family dog in their own yard. His actions also emboldened some of the more rabid animal rights extremists, and they have quite literally terrorized a law-abiding trapper and his family.
What do I mean by terrorism? Their biostitute (a local term for a biologist who sells his "expertise" to the highest bidder) and his pilot buzzed this trappers house so low the trapper's son, who was 4 at the time, was afraid to go out in his own yard. The animal rights group admitted this activity on their web site. They also published the trapper's home phone number on their web site, with the words, "feel free to call him at home and tell him what you think". The list goes on, if you're interested, but these types of things are why I am definately voting today, and I'm voting Republican.

Because it is my sacred duty.
"Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's". In this case, "Caesar" requires all US Citizens to VOTE to give this nation its direction. I vote as an Ambassador for Christ for the good of this nation because I also give unto God that which is God's.
