First don't take any type of medications, unless you really need to lower you temp. Medications just mask the fever and don't do anything to help your body get over the fever. Your body raises its temperature for a reason and that is to fight off the infection, so a fever, I know it is uncomfortable, is actually a good thing for your body.
Second make sure you drink lots of orange juice and chicken noodle soup. The orange juice serves two functions. First it provides vitamin C which helps your immune system which builds white blood cells to fight the infection. Second it helps flush your body of the infection when you actually go to the bathroom. The chicken noodle soup helps in the same way, but I don't remember whats in it, but it has been shown to help the body recover quicker.

you can not cure a fever it is your body's response to an unwelcome substance, like a virus. Fever is not necessarily a bad thing because it means your immune system is working to fight the problem. To control the symptoms of the fever, or to prevent it from getting too high, use acetaminophen or ibruprophen, drink lots of fluids too. Ride it out treating the symptoms and let your immune system do it's job. Some viruses can cause a fever lasting on and off for a week or more, so don't be suprised if you "relapse" after you start feeling better for a few hours. If the fever ever become too high or unresponsive to the (tylenol or motrin) or if it is accompanied by severe headache, stiff neck, or convulsions, see your doctor immediately.

a fever is actually the body's natural way of fighting an infection. if you can put up with it, let it take it's natural course, you'll be sick for less time, as your body will be able to kill the infection faster. off course if your temperature rises above 40 degrees celsius, then you should try to lower it by using paracetemol or having a coolish shower or bath or sitting in a cool room or under a fan and drinking cold water. But a fever BELOW 40 degrees celsius is not necessarily a bad thing.

You can not cure a fever since the fever is a symptom of some other type of illness. You can reduce a fever by taking over the counter meds, but if the fever is not extreme (above 103 deg F) then it is best to let it ride. The fever is your body raising it's temp to kill off a foreign body and the more you reduce the fever, the longer it takes your body to fight it off...

Fever can be reduced with acetaminophen (Tylenol), cold compressed and fluids. You don't want to completely eliminate fever. Having a fever means your body is fighting off an illness. Increased temperatures will help to kill off some 'bugs'.
