I have lived long enough to develop this philosophy: money is important to provide the essentials, such as food, clothing, shelter, etc.
Money isn't everything. The "ear" of a concerned friend, a morning hug from your spouse, the smiles on children's faces, freshly bloomed roses - money cannot buy that. Money is not everything to me but I'm happy I have enough to cover the basics.

You'd have to go without it for a year to find out just how much of everything money really is.

i was just thinking to myself the other day, why does my life have to revolve around something that i have so little of? personally, i really hate money. if there was a way for me to have my home and support my family without it, i'd do it. unfortunately, to be a functioning member of society, you have to earn and spend money. it's a vicious cycle. i just try to not allow my happiness to be determined by my bank statement.
