You should be just as annoying. Do things like clip your fingernails at your desk, make random noises every once in a while, etc.

Perhaps this is just how & who he "is." If he bothers you this much, why don't you move? Friendly, sick way? That's kind of a contradiction of words. Are you saying he's gay? Or you think he "might" be? Whatever the case may be, just arrange to move to another location. It's not worth the idea of killing him, because then you'll end up at a place where they don't "have" desks!

Speak to him and then ignore him. Why do you care if you have his approval. You are a person in your own right. He should not have such a strong emotional pull on your emotions.
Learn to tune him out and learn something about yourself in your relationships with other people, Maybe you really do care about him and this feeling of "hate" is no more than class or personality envy. Chill out!

Can you ask to move to another desk? If not, I agree with the other answer...be as annoying as possible. And the heck with clipping your fingernails and making annoying noises.....clip your TOEnails and fart all the time. Maybe HE'LL ask to move.
Good luck. :)

Ignore him and train your thought not dwell on him or hate. Then you will be living your life again, instead of being shackled to the situation.
