I do not vote for anyone that is overly religious because I think their beliefs would out rule what is best for the citizens This Country is based on seperation of Church and State.. I vote for people that I feel are truthful and want to do what is best for our Country- I don't vote Party because I don't necessarily agree with someone just because they are a Democrat or Republican... I listen to both sides and decide who I think has the best ideas and who I think has the same beliefs as me as to what would help our Country run the way it should

Religion has nothing to do with politics and should never cross the line into it.
Nor should religion enter the workplace (unless of course your a minister or a priest then its part of the job spec)

If the American public are voting on a religious basis to keep a "god fearing" nutter in power then they are all hypocrites, especially after removing the Taliban in Afghanistan just because they had god fearing nutters in power

If someone talks too much about God, I automatically disqualify them. I do not want this to be a theocracy, and I believe there is alot of value in keeping religion and politics separate.

Lets face it.. USA is a Christian country....
I presume that if you know someone is a praticing Christian they are more likely to be honest and trustworthy...
But more importantly ,, when someone is elected by a community want that person to represent their views.. Therefore a Christian community is more likely to elect on openly christian leader.. and this leader will represents their views.. In England, in muslim areas, muslims are elected,... In northern ireland roman catholics elect Roman catholics and in prodestant areas prodestants are elected...
In my opinion people elect a person who they think is most similar to them and their views...
the mind set of most people is "support your own first"....

Let me ask you... if you were a devout christian would you elect a non christian who might support divorce, abortion,, sex outside marraige etc....
if you were a muslim would you vote for someone ( e.g Chrisian or jew who would be more likely to support......

the list goes on...

Absolutely not. I just don't think it's relevant to government decisions. As a conservative I don't believe the government should make laws that restrict our freedoms when they do not harm others.

i thought there was supposed to be separation of church and state. why does it matter if they are God-fearing? so far the God-fearing haven't done such a good job.

Why fear God? Why not just love God?
