There is no way to accelerate the transfer of data to your machine. Think of it this way...

Your home has an ISP that says you can download at X speed and upload at Y speed. those are you max speeds and nothing you can do will increase those speeds without signing up for a faster access.

Also...

The server you access may limit the connection speed per connection to T and that is all they will allow. If T is less than your X, then a download manager which makes multiple connections to the same server will max out your download speed. If the servers T speed is greater than your download speed of X then you are maxed and screwed.

In easier to grasp formulae...

Server = T
Home download = X

T>X=SOL and nothing can help.
T
Summary...

Free solutions for accelerating your connection are a scam. They may help ONLY in the poirn that they may perform a compression on the HTML to reduce from lets say 50KB to 5KB and that will speed up your connection. If you are downloading picd from a site, the those are already compressed and no speed increase will happen.

No! download accelerators claim to do that, but the truth is that you can download only as fast as the connection you have been provided by your ISP allows
