Please do the following: Check your available hard drive space. I don't know what your hard disk capacity is, but if the computer is fairly new it probably has at least a 60 GB drive. The RAM of 512 mb should be adequate, but you could upgrade to 1 GB to make sure. If your hard disk has more than half of the space available, you should be ok. Get rid of needless files and clean out the recycle bin. Also, do a Disk Cleanup by right clicking on the c: drive, go to properties, and click on "Disk Cleanup". After all this has been done, defrag the c: drive. You should notice a marked difference in your performance. The above steps need to be repeated one per week if you are on the net a lot.

What do you mean by 600mb?

Do you mean MHz ? If so 600MHz CPU is more than enough for internet use.

If you mean 600MB of free space, then again, this wouldn't affect your internet experience..

Also 512 MB of ram wouldn't affect that much your experience for internet use.

What I can recommend is to try browsing the internet with firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/).

Also do a virus scan to make sure you don't have any viruses.

I you do all these and your speed is not improved then you might want to upgrade your internet connection..

Ok My friend, the internet problems only can be fixed by cleaning up your PC as a first step. To do that, just try to use a software like START-ACCESORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-DISK CLEAN UP. Then you can try to install a new web browser like MOZILLA FIREFOX instead of Internet Explorer. The internet connection problems are only related with modems or Ethernet cards, who are the main devices related with the internet, it depends of your ISP. The memory RAM is ok in your PC, you don;t have to worry about it.
Other case is, if you have norton antivirus with firewall protection and other features try to unistall it and try with another antivirus like NOD32 who is really good and do not over protect your PC.

Well as you see it could be differents reasons, but I would like to know what exactly is happening with your internet in your PC, Maybe I can help you better about this.

As last opinion, for me your computer components are ok, is just you have to clean up your pc and try to unlock your pc of a lot of firewalls and all those over protect features in your PC, it happends in most of cases.

Hope I can help you I litlle about this matter.

Best regards
JC
