The players are getting into the blocking stance. From this position they are preparing to get under the opposite line's guard to block them from interfering with what the back field is trying to do

They are lowering their shoulders so they can lean into / hit their opponents.

Except for the wide receiver, he is gay...oh and the center too.

I think that is the stance they have to be in for blocking.
