In Medival times, blue was believed to have magical powers of protection. Blue blankets and blue clothing were used for male children because they were considered more valuable than female children.

Blue and pink are usually baby colours. Pink is more appropriate for girls and blue for boys.

goes way back in history,in neandertal days the blokes went blue with cold waiting for his mate to choose the right skin to put on before he took her out for a night on the caves.this of course tickled her pink.somew this got lodged in our genes and there i remains.same logic applies today.
