Sounds like your trying to have someone else do your homework, well, I am bored enough so here goes
Tourism is the economic and cultural exchange conducted by foreigners visitors.
Pros: Money or economic revenue.
Economic Growth.
Funds and necessitates preservation of cultural and historic sites and artworks.
Makes a place famous and thus puts it "on the map"
Validates a culture as rich, interesting, and valued
Often leads to further economic ties. Business ventures.
Funds new civic projects.
Cons:Exploits natural resources for outsiders.
Creates a population of local service workers (hotels, restaurants,) who sometimes become second-class to the tourists and dependent on them for a livilyhood.
Objectivies a group of people for entertainment, amusement or study (like African Bushmen...Masaii Warriors)
Theft of cultural artifacts (Stonehenge, Tribal Masks, Ancestral Artifacts, Human Remains)
Creates a stereotyped culture geared toward tourists (Hawai'i)
Prostitution (Your teacher may not like that but I've been to 5 continents and that is a REAL serious problem that should be addressed.)
Drugs and Crime (Muggings) as well.
Locals can't afford to live in their own communities (Aspen, Colorado, Providence Town, Mass.)
Silly Tourists commit cultural faux pas that aggrivate the locals.
(Although tourism does lead to social exchange and understanding +++)
Good Luck with your Homework.

Advantages: 1. There is very little industry anymore in the Peak District, so the way I see it tourism is instrumental to the local economy (the B&B operators, cavern tours, etc). 2. Kids touring Pevreril Castle from elsewhere get a connection with history, and a real feeling for how and why the environment has changed (castle is no longer needed as there is not much of a forest to protect anymore). Disadvantages: 1. Summer months are frankly unbearable with travellers 2. Tourist shops and restaurants have really raised property costs in the past ten years; and this has brought in outsiders and somewhat diminished the local flavour (although maybe that's just a by-product of the ageing population?) 3. Disrespect for local fields by travellers who do not abide by the rambling ethic and litter grounds, scare sheep, etc. This hurts everyone... These are a few just off the top of my head. I love the Peak District, and try my best when visiting to be a respectful traveller....!

The biggest advantage of tourism is the infusion of money it brings to the community. Tourism creates jobs and businesses for townspeople.
I really cannot think of disadvantages unless it would be having to hire more civil servants for policing and caring for tourists if they need medical attention, etc. Also, I suppose there are legal ramifications in having people possibly file lawsuits if they are hurt or injured on public or private property while visiting the city or town.
Upkeep on properties would also cost more for cleaning and maintaining but you will note that in spite of the costs, most communities are avidly seeking to improve their tourism due to the amount of money tourists bring to a town or city.

advantages - bring a lot of money that can improve the social features to the area. This increases quality of life, meaning that the area is a nicer place to live in.
disadvantages - they can ruin the environment because of building work done to cope with tourism, and pollution from the work done. It also means that in non-peak seasons all the tourist area is completely rejected.
