I dont actually follow the programme but everytime I see this lady she has a hat on her even indoors why is this?

Yes, there is a story she took this part in the ' Emmerdale TV show' on condition that she would always be allowed to wear a hat, as many different hats as possible!
Edna Birch has a very well known hat shop in the Hull area of the UK, and sales have gone through the roof since she was on this pro gramme, if you ever visit this area of the UK you will find most women from Hull wearing similar style hats!! They also wear clogs (wooden shoes similar to the women in Holland) A very interesting place, don't forget to take your camera if you ever visit!!!

She seems to have bad Hair, Thin Patchy Wispy Hair. On one Occasion in Emmerdale someone took Her Hat off because they were wondering why she always wore a Hat and Her Hair was very Thin, and she immediately grabbed the Hat and rammed it back on Her Head. So She must have felt she had to make a Statement about Herself on the Show to allow this ,Brave Woman.

I saw her at a stag night last week, she came in as Edna, but took her hat off and out fell long brown hair, the music got louder and she performed her routine, wow, thats all I can say.

I watch the show sometimes and was only thinking the same thing the other night! I have never seen her without the hat.

LOL that's a good question! i do actually watch that show i have actually seen her once in the show, it was a long tI'me ago, she was lying in a hospital bed and she didn't have the hat on, im not joking she looked like E.T!! mebi that's why

I think it's to do with her character. She plays a very strict christian, conservative lady and that hat is just part of that.

she looks awful without it in one episode she was screened without the hat for what a few seconds she looked ghastly or maybe its like you say she never takes it off so were not used to it

it is to hide the fact that she has the word **** tatooed on her forehead, funny story really, her and Seth before he died used to go clubbing in york and one day she was found in a skip with the word **** tatooed on her forehead.
