The main reason is the high profits to be made for little to no effort in peddling their wares. Some enter this kind of life, because of no upbringing as a child. Drug dealers and other criminal elements were the only ones who had anything to do with them, so naturally they identify and look up to these people. These people can care less, if the live, or die, they live for today, and going about life aimlessly. Many know subconsciously that this career is very short lived.

They are poor and would like to live a better life but they don't have any fancy degrees or a stable work history and it's the easiest way for them to make money to improve their situations. Especially in third world countries where they get paid much more for drug than anything legally made. It's a very easy way out if they're in a gang to sell drugs.

Money, power, free or hugely discounted drugs. Easy schedule, get to sleep in, carry guns or other weapons. I would have stayed in but every one around me was insane and I didn't want to go to jail or get shot and I always had trouble reading people when they were high on god knows what or combinations of drugs which most of the people I dealt with were, so I moved out of state, (which I was think of anyway) and I never saw any of the guys ever again.

don't have to work. big deals with the money they make. fast cash. if they get caught they know they will be on the street in 2 years or less. no room for them in our prisons. send them to turkey. turkey will take any of our felons for $3. a day. our gov't makes to much money by having all the jails here, paying the warden triple figures, all the guards, the people building the prisons, etc. think about it! i think it cost the tax payers here about $139. a day for food, medicine, etc. wow!

quite simple. it is greed, laziness, and the desire for worldly pleasures that causes people to choose a life like that. illegal narcotics are simply crutches for those who cannot handle real life.

MONEY!!!!!.
Also because their education is already not that good and they can't find any decent jobs. Since they are already experts at drugs, they might as well as do it.
