The view from the sunny window,
From a childs imaginitve mind.
Is a warm place full of freindleness,
Where people seem so kind.

They cannot see the dangers,
That lurk beyond their gaze,
Of the slow ruin of the earth,
By the suns destructive rays.

They can not see pollution,
Or rain forests gettin fewer,
Or household waste disappearing,
Down every murky sewer.

They do not know the perils
of a threatning nuclear war,
Or of the posionous gases
That pollute our earth for sure.

They have not witnessed poverty,
Or children living on the edge
Where begging is a necessity
So their not part of the dredge.

What they see is beauty,
Where wonderful things come true,
Where pixies chase each other,
And flowers dance on cue.

I guess its best if they keep this dream
It wont be long before they know the truth
The window will be a faded fantasy,
And the destruction will be the proof!!

Thanks x

I love the poem and so poinient did you compose it yourself. We may be the species with the greaest brains on earth but we don 't use them for the good of the planet and its populations.

and they do not know every time a farmer goes out of business
and farmland goes in for development.. that is one more step into a world were we cannot turn back too.
