Some sort of identification should be required. Some places require more than others--some as little as a paid electric bill of an apartment rented, some require a picture ID. At least the voter registration card should be shown when asked for.

NO,, we never needed it before so why now? Showing ID would only make the process take longer and would give people more of a reason not to take the time to vote. Exactly what some politicians want! By the way, we have to sign in and can only vote one time.. There no need for being I.D.ed to practice our right to vote.
More concern should be put on the voting machines not the voters. And voting standards should be nationalized, not left up to each town to decide what machines and rules to apply to voting.. This has been a disaster and getting worse every election.

yep. didn't start where i live (i also live in ohio) at the last election in like august(it was just about a school issue).
But what i don't get is if you bring a bill or bank statement and your addresses don't match they might not let you vote!!! unless you tell them what happend...why it wasn't the same.

I didn't have to show my ID but I did have to sign and my signature had to be compared with my previous signature.
Of course, I live in Cook County, Illinois, the election joke of the country.

Yes, and most of us in Arizona are not happy about that. Our voter's registration card should be enough--after all, each name can only vote once, anyway.
