cranium is brilliant because it is made up of different games - modelling with play-dough, drawing the word on the card, questions, singing, miming etc. it is hilarious and there has got to be a part of the game that appeals to somebody in the room - therefore no one feels left out.

It depends on what you guys like. I have a 13yr old, a 5 yr old, and a 2 yr old and we play twister, monopoly, life, trivial pursuit (kids edition), disney's scene it, candyland, sorry, trouble, battleship, etc... My kids really loved the disney scene it and twister. I think that their ultimate favorite is pictionary though, it's so much fun and everyone is constantly laughing trying to figure out what the other is drawing. I think I'd choose pictionary, and you can make your own topics. Just get a piece of paper and write down a bunch of Christmas themed items like tree, star, presents, etc... I hope this helps, it really is fun!

Usually Xmas day is reservered in our house for outdoor activities like sliegh rides and sledding. But on Xmas eve we all get around the computer and go to the NORAD site and watch where Santa is in the world. The kids love it they get know just how long it will be till santa gets to them. Merry Christmas everyone.....(actually I'm a Scrooge) How on earth did I manage to type merry Christmas...Doh!! twice now...

There is a game called Balderdash. I bought it years ago in WH Smiths, on the off chance it was good. Best investment I made, it is hilarious, cannot understand why it never caught on. All my relatives bought it, and we play it whenever. No trouble for a ten year old. Go and buy it , you will not regret it.

My sister and I use to get a board game each for Christmas and after dinner we use to take it in turns to play one then the other.

Try looking at Origami websites, they sometimes have some really good decorations in origami books. Plus you can print or draw patterns on the paper first.
Plus holographic wrapping paper makes great decorations!

Xmas day we watch things on tv or play with toys. But on xmas eve, we have hot pork, stuffing and gravy sandwiches, a bottle of wine (or two). We play trivial persuit and watch a film, although this normally gets turned off because we get engrosed with trivial persuit

Why not play ludo or snakes and ladders ? Or any other generic board game. I prefer to watch a good movie on that night.
