Suddenly they changed the actress playing Lilly on Young and the Restless, does anyone know why, and is this permanent? Did anyone also notice that they changed the actress playing the part of Brad Carleton's mother? Who are these new actresses and why do they keep switching them? It interferes with you enjoyment of continuity.

How can I say this without sounding bitter. Basically Lynn Latham and company decided to let Davetta Sherwood go on September 24th just out of the blue from my understanding. No warning AND they didn't even tell her, her agent did!
Basically Christel Khalil had been in talks with the show and they decided to bring her back. She had left the role of Lily Winters last year to try for a movie career...she left on her own accord.
Nothing against Christel but I felt that Davetta was the perfect fit as Drucilla's offspring. She looked and acted the role so well, she just looked like Dru and Malcolm's daughter! I have not watched the show since last week so I haven't seen Christel's first scene yet. I've been upset every since I heard about what the show did to Davetta. (I've met Davetta a few times and just adore her!) It is a part of the business which sucks to be honest and something that the fans have to deal with unfortunately. This is a business first and foremost and the show must go on changes and all.
Millie Perkins who portrayed Brad's mother was only slated to be on for a short time but when they decided to continue her story they had to find another actress to play the role.
My advice to you is to check out Soap Opera Digest and CBS Soaps In Depth. You can pick up these magazines at your local drug and grocerty stores. You can also get mail subscriptions for them. Both magazines have web sites as well. This will help you keep up with the ever changing things going on in daytime and on your favorite shows.

I read that the new Lilly is actually the original Lilly and fans wrote in so much about wanting her back that they got her back and let the new one's contract expire...I liked the new one just fine , a beautiful actress. I don't know about the change of Brad's Mom...but check in with cbs.com and click on the Young and the restless....it might have an update later, but it didn't just now....

They changed back to the original Lily because fans were mad when she left so they brought her back. Brad's mom, who was played by Millie Perkins, was only on contract for a few episodes.
After her contract was up she was replaced by another actress.

Just when u get use to the new Lily they bring the old one back. I love them both but I think I would rather have the old one.

The new Lily is the original Lily.I like the old one better.This Lily looks like she is white.
