How would the shift to the prevalence of big business work to the advantage or disadvantage of a consumer?

What would be the advantages and disadvantages for an owner of a small business? this is for my u.s history class assignment i need your help please.

Big business is able to purchase products in bulk at lower prices. This allows them to cut costs and sell at a lower price as well. A small business cannot compete with that.

This creates a competition between businesses, and is an advantage to the consumer who can purchase products at a lower price. It is a disadvantage to the small business that cannot compete and may be driven out of business.
