You could apply with one of the several contractors that service large refineries or gas plants.Contractors such as stress relieving services ,maintenance companies , vacuum truck and sand blasting companies etc.You could apply to apprentice with Boilermakers, Millright or Pipefitters trade unions. Those could give you a lot of experience in the refinery aspect -how they work under pressure and the chemical and physical reactions that take place producing fuels.
