Where can I get grants and funding for music and arts projects in the UK?

I have already tried the arts council, looking for smaller grants that take less than 3 months

I'd say the National Lottery, but I'd be very surprised if you find any that will get you the grant within 3 months - they normally require applications further in advice. How about the local town or county councils? They normally have an arts fund.
