hmm it's too much. You should only cleanse your skin twice a day but not exfoliate. Use it twice a week, or just ask her again maybe she made a mistake when she said twice daily. Probably she meant twice weekly.

it's way too much... oily skin doesn't even need twice per week. the frequency depends only on the product.... there are exfoliants that are mild and need to be done twice a week and others are rough enough to last you a week.... another thing you should know if you have oily skin is to be very very care-full witch products you use if you use harsh soaps every day then you will end up with a more oily skin:) sounds weird? harsh products such as soaps take away not only more oil than we want but also moisture... the skin needs its moisture and even some oil so it will be triggered to create more and more and more.... and you will end up with a dehydrated skin on the surface and an oily skin underneath. pimples and black heads will continue but your skin outside will be dry and dehydrated... and once you stop these harsh products you will become worse...
you should find the most suited product line for you witch will be regulating the sebum-glands without reducing the production of moisture! try to find products with a p.h. 5.5. and ALWAYS use cream after a mask or exfoliant!!! find a cream suitable for oily skin but moisturizing...
good luck :)

You do not say what brand of exfoliant you are using. I would say that twice a day is too much. They are to be used once, perhaps twice a week. You do not want to dry out your skin. If I were you, I would use it as directed on the package and see if you notice a difference.

Oily skin is easily stimulated to produce more oil by washing/cleansing too much.
You may exfoliate but once a week, if that. Oily skin behaves differently than dry when it comes to self exfoliation.

I hated having oily skin as a young person, but at 53, I don't mind as much because my skin looks better than other gals my age. The oil production tapers off as we age.

You would be wise to find a light moisturizer to keep the oil in check.

I use Arbonne Intelligence, which does exfoliate twice daily, because I wash my face twice daily. Im not sure what she gave you, but if it appears to be too harsh or drying, see if there is something else you can use instead.

I would recommend at least trying the Arbonne Intelligence - it has nanosphere technology, which means that the science is there to allow the product to conform to your needs. If your skin is oily, it will work with the oil to eliminate it, yet keep your skin from getting too dry.

you can view at www.arbonne.com and if you are interested, contact a local representative for a sample.
