My favorite comedy/action flick would be Hot Fuzz. Definitely watch that if you haven't yet already. Other than that, I'd recommend these, that are probably what you're looking for; movies that aren't typically action or comedic: The Shawshank Redemption Sunshine 3:10 to Yuma Blood Diamond Inglorious Basterds (ok, it is comedic and has action. And I bet you've seen it. But it's sooooooo freakin' good!) Dog Soldiers (action horror. Great dialogue, gotta love those English) Identity Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Snatch Lucky Number Slevin October Sky Slumdog Millionaire The Count of Monte Cristo The Thing The Sting The Silence of the Lambs The Prestige V For Vendetta The Truman Show Those are some of my favorites that don't hold action or comedy as the main genre. Besides a couple. I bet you've seen at least half, so I strongly recommend watching the rest. Enjoy! ;-)

once you run low on movies, switch over to tv shows. netflix is great for getting tv dvds. check out:
House (Seasons 1 and 2)
Lost (if you're into it)
24 (you'll watch them all in a row, i promise)
Firefly (great show, but sadly cancelledafter 13 episodes)
Monk (earlier seasons are better, before sharona lef the show)
you can also get best of snl dvds and comedian stand-up dvds as well. netflix doesnt have only movies. pretty much anything on dvd is there

Depends on your likes...
...for Twilight Zone-esque, try Population 436
...for sci-fi horror, try Event Horizon
...for courtroom drama, try 12 Angry Men (the original, 60's)
...for comedy, try Jay & Silent Bob Stike Back (warning: very R-rated) or Ford Fairlane (w/Andrew Dice Clay)
...for mystery/thriller, try Criminal Law or House of Cards (both 80's)
