I have been at this job for a year and 2months. I've got one raise last year, when i first started it was four of us and now it's just me a another girl. I have been doing a two person job since April 06.I was promised a rise when she left but nothing, then the manager got fired and nothing.So now i start from 7Am to 5:30 or 6Pm sometimes. How should i ask for the raise i deserve??? HELP!!!

The hours you state are 10-11 hrs per day, not including your lunch break.

You're definitely working more than 40 hrs per week. So if you're not getting paid overtime, you're definitely due a salary increase.

Put your ducks in a row and list your contributions, both over the entire time you've worked there and since the personnel cuts. Emphasize everything in positive words - stay aware from looking like you're complaining about management decisions made by your boss.

What are your costs related to the job? Any additional costs since you stay so long each day?

Stay professional and keep things relevant to a pay raise (remember you're not asking for the company to hire more help, you want that money to go to you... )

I just read a book about making money. I can't remember what it's called though. It says if you feel you deserve a raise then just go up and ask for it. You could say something like "could I have a raise please? If you don't feel that I've earned it by my next paycheck you could always take it away. But could I please have a chance?" I think it's a good way to show that you aren't afraid of your boss and you feel confident enough to ask.

You ask for a raise by talking to the boss in private. Tell me your benefits to the company and how you would like to stay in the business for long time. The more of asset you are to the company the more likely you will get a raise or promation.

you know... how you explained in here in Answers sounds about perfect. Ask for a 'confidential' meeting with your boss... and just lay it out. You're working well, doing the work of 2, and succeeding. Just say that with the work that you're doing, you believe you deserve a 10% raise. (or pick a number)
