mates. Our friends gave us a $120.00 "gift certificates" to a really fancy restaurant. I have never been to a place like that. Don't know how to act! What can I expect? Just think how many Burger King burgers we could buy with that much money. Help this country boy to know how to act when we go in.

Good for you 'old coots' and I hope you enjoy the gift certificate. You'll actually enjoy it. Cloth napkins, fancy dishes, it's all good. Just remember your manner...help your new lady with her chair and her coat...and order your most favorite dish. A country boy like yourself can probably find a good steak on the menu...you can splurge on desserts...and a bottle of wine if you prefer. Won't it be fun to dine in and not worry about the check. Be sure to write a thank you note to the person who gave you the gift certificate and you've got the rest of your life to dine at BK. Jazz up your clothing for the event (no overalls), help your new bride with the door and be whomever you want to be for the evening. Just be sure you save some energy for the fun you'll have when you return home. Enjoy....and good luck.

The first thing you should know, if it is a fancy restaurant, it will cost you much more than $120.00 for two people. I would plan on dropping another $200.00 of your own money. As far as how to act, you can be yourselves. As long as you are not loud and obnoxious, you will be fine. You do not have to act like a stiff just because you are around people with money. You will have to wear the proper attire. The restaurant will tell you what is proper, but it is probably jacket required, which means you should where a jacket and tie. Out of curiosity, where are you dining? Have a great time!

I'm so happy for you both. I wish you the best! At either 64 or 69, you know what good manners are. I would thank your very generous friends and enjoy your evening. I'm sure they gave you that gift certificate to pamper you. Just go along with it. If you're truly nervous and want to "fit in", watch the other people around you. Congratulations again!

Congratulations!

As far as the restaurant goes, just dress nice and have a good time. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, just enjoy yourself. That's what the gift is for anyway.
