Yes it does bother me. Especially when you consider than many of these people are wrongly accused of being terrorists.
When we first invaded Afghanistan, people were spiteful and accused people they just didnt like as being terrorists and we captured held and tortured them. After finding out they werent really terrorists and released do you not think these people would go join the terrorists?
How are we supposed to be a civilized nation and do something like this? It is outrageous that people think it is okay because the person it is being done to is classified as a terrorist. Any US citizen who thinks this is okay should go live somewhere else.

This war is likened to the wars of Rome and Germania. We are the noble and civilized Romans while the Islamic world is the archaic and destitute barbarians.

Despite the fact that in Iraq we step over our noble bounds, these barbarians have a mind set and stand true it. We are the Great Satan and must be destroyed. These people who the ACLU defend and the far left admire would sooner see their heads seperated from their shoulders then ally themselves with them.

War is not for the civilian. It is a soliders art and must be allowed to remain so. The country is divided and has been since the election of 2000. Like Rome it is the effort of our military personel that keep the United States and the Western world prosperous in these desperate times.

They are tasked with the defense of the people of the United States and if capturing, imprisoning, and torturing these volitile combatants acheives that goal then so be it. The debates and politics of the war should be left in D.C. and within our borders. Leave the war to the warriors.

our torture is to save peoples lives, so yes it should be done and how much worse can we be than the Muslims they are not trying to save lives, they just plain and simple like to torture and kill,
How do you feel about Americans and Jew's who tortured Germans after the war, just to get them to confess war crimes,?they put their testicles in a vice and would tighten down a little at a time until they got a confession real or not, and the Jew's dug trenches with the plan to kill all Germans and bury them in mass graves,English and American officers were in agreement, it would have been did except gen, Eisenhower stopped it, and this was not to save lives?? The war was over,
F,Y,I, ,P.O.W.'s are always kept until the end of any war unless there is a prisoner exchange, there is no communications or releases period and this war is not over yet, the Muslims don't have any prisoners to exchange as they torture and kill any and all they capture,

The terrorists are waging total war on us and have thrown away any "rule book" or convention regarding war - we have no choice.

There are also conventions of war against causing unnecessary civilian casualties, declaring war before taking action, not hiding militarily significant items amongst the civilian population, treating captured neutrals such as aid workers with respect and releasing them and treating captured military personnel according to the Geneva Convention but the terrorists have breached all these conventions - and breached them FIRST.

If we are to win the war against terror and not subside into an Islamic-based world dominated by extremists then we must fight fire with fire, no matter how distasteful it may be to our more civilised western view.

at one time it replaced into indefinite. now they are able to undertaking it in courtroom. If GWB had merely regarded them as prisoners of conflict, considered to their Geneva convention rights and enable the purple flow in then none of this could have occurred. yet GWB had to be above the regulation and subsequently tried to ward off it in elementary terms to have it turn around and chew him on the butt. merely concluding that all of the persons swept up interior the rush after 9/11 are terrorists merely by way of fact GWB says they're is risky. individually, i'm happy to make certain that they are able to undertaking. in the event that they're terrorists the the info will talk for itself, in the event that they have been railroaded and there is not any evidence then they get their freedom. Our government replaced into based on the basis of justice for all, it is approximately time we've been given decrease back on objective with that.

I have no problem with the techniques outlined in MCA: 2006. Nor is holding enemy combatants for long periods a bad thing if they can provide useful data.

Discomfort is not torture, the terrorists permanently maim, disfigure and behead people as torture. Extracting this information has been useful although many of the prisoners have been isolated from the cause for so long I do not know how much useful information they are likely to have now.

The war on terrorists is like the war on poverty ,drugs ,and crime .
Tell me when we can declare a victory on say the war against homelessness or poverty or elder abuse . It is a case by case situation .
Now lets take terrorists on in the same manner a case by case situation .
Round a bunch of suspected terrorists up hold them indefinitely till they confess or lead you to other terrorists .
Its like holding a drug dealer for a year and asking him to provide information on current drug deals . Think about this for a minute and ask does it make sense to operate a war this way and expect to win at some point .
I do not see a victory at any price or time against terrorists . !00 million of them out there just waiting to be called by allah .
Some body walks up and says allah has told me you are the one to bring death to america . and a normal person becomes a terrorist .
