ok to actually put the butter on the bread and spread it around it took me 3 seconds. but if you time it from putting down the timer, walking over to the fridge, taking out the butter, putting it on the counter, walking over the the cabinet and getting the bread out, opening that stupid twisty tie, getting a slice of bread out of the bag, closing the bread with that stupid twisty tie, putting the bread back in the cabinet, walking back over to the butter, opening the butter, getting a butter knife from the drawer then dipping it into the tub of butter and putting it onto the bread then spreading it around and putting the knife in the sink, closing the butter, putting it back in the fridge then picking the timer back up, then it took me 1 minute and 7 seconds. hope that this helped you out.

I actually went to the kitchen and did it to gove you an accurate time. If you start counting fromt the time i get the bread and slice it and pull out the buttern and then butter the bread... it takes me 15.2 seconds... BUT if everything is laid out for me on the table to simply "butter the slice of bread" then it takes me 4.6 seconds.... I had a timer!!!! :)

3-4 seconds when done properly.
If it was a competition, I would have buttered it in less than 2 seconds.

Depends on if the butter is hard or soft and how much butter you apply and also the size of the bread.
