Romney has the edge because he has been around a lot less than McCain.

McCain has made some missteps and his true independence disappears on close votes. When the chips are down he votes GOP, regardless of what his public statements were ahead of the vote.

The other plus for Romney is that he is not an "owned" man. He doesn't owe people for his position.

And lastly, It is rare that Senators win. The winner of the Presidential elections tend to be governors. JFK was the last Senator who won the White House.

If the average mainstream Republican has a say, it will most likely be McCain. If the Conservative Christians continue to control the party it will be Romney.

McCain more likely to win general but not the nomination.

Romney's a tard. Can't stand him. MacCain I can stand...won't matter either way though because I'm voting Stewart and Colbert in 08.
