I'm 32wks pregnant and for the past few months I've been getting nore and more discharge. Not anything different and what I described to the doctor, he said was normal, and it looks normal to me because I have had yeast infections before and a couple of others. But has anyone ever noticed a smell like garlic in their discharge. I know that sounds gross, and I'll ask my doc about it at the next appt. This isn't the first time I've noticed this it happens sometimes, even when I haven't been pregnant. It just seems stronger now. Any ideas? I don't have ANY other weird symptoms except the normal pregnancy discharge! Thanks and please be kind!!!!

It's protection against having a vampire baby!!!

No, seriously; do you eat a lot of garlic? Because that's one of the oils that tends to retain it's smell all the way through your digestive system. That may, in fact, be why it is understood to be protection against the evil of losing more blood than you can afford to lose -- the vampire stories.

I take garlic oil capsules as part of my vitamin regimen. I would not be surprised to find the scent anywhere on or in my body. It goes out your pores, even; people can tell a garlic eater from their sweat, not just their breath. If you eat enough parsley as well, the effect is muted.

Yeah its perfectly normal. Its the hormones that cause a greater discharge, and a funky smell.

Theres a difference between regular discharge and infectious discharge.

So long as its not foul smelling (like something dead) funny colored (like dark yellow) or stringy its generally fine :)

I just went through this with my doctor. I didnt realize you could have so much discharge that changes smells all the time while pregnant. Totally normal :)

Let your doctor physically examine you. My wife had a little bit of that, and some had said it was a yeast infection. Some yeast infection cases are stronger during pregnancy, but as far as harm to you or the baby, don't worry.... it may look and smell strange, but there's no harm to either of you possible from it.

Just leave it be and let the doctor see it.

uh yea i think your fine. Have you eaten onions or garlic latly? Cause i know that DOES affect how you um smell down there....LOL i know thats sick but its the truth.....ever give a man oral after he eats onions? You will then figure it out lol try to pay attention. I think its something in them that causes this to happen. As long as it doesn itch burn or anything like that i would say its nothing to worry about.....:) GOODLUCK!

in case you devour some thing like garlic, warm sause and so on that's gone through your endocrine equipment. so that you'll smell it else the position. the launch is widespread and it may get gross. basically shop infant wipes round and sparkling regularly, shop your record appts, make certain u are not getting any better yeast or baterial infections and u will be nice

I noticed that after I had sex my discharge seemed to be thicker and had a strange odor to it for a couple days afterwards. Talked to my midwife and she said it has to do with a reaction that the pregnant body has to the prostaglandins in the semen... Weird I thought... But if what you are experiencing is after having sex, that may be the same for you.
