I live in NC, if you know of a Dr. to referr me to. Thanks so much

Hi there,
I am so sorry that you are in this situation. I had my tubes tied many years ago and it was the worst decision that I ever made.
These are the facts, the chances of you getting pregnant without any surgical intervention are so small that they are not even worth thinking about. I knew a woman that this happened to but statistically the chances are almost zero.
The surgery is expensive and by no means a guarantee. Surgery to reverse a tubal ligation is called "reanastomosis" and requires extreme skill on the part of the surgeon. Your fallopian tubes are very delicate and the surgery to "put them back" the way they were is very delicate also. Your odds of getting pregnant after the surgery are still not that high. Much depends on the method that was used to accomplish the ligation. Cauterization tends to destroy a significant part of the tube. Clips and rings destroy less of the tube. If you do not know what type of surgery you had you would probably need a Laproscopic examination to determine just what condition your tubes are really in. This would give you a better idea of whether or not a reversal would be likely to be successful.
Tubal ligation should always be considered permanent. I do however understand how you feel and the procedures to undo this surgery are getting better all the time. I would encourage you to see a doctor who specializes in this type of procedure and see what she says to you.
I am afraid that there is no way to get an insurance company to help you with the expense involved though. I am sure that the surgery is in the $20,000 range tho you can get more accurate figures when you actually see a doctor.
I wish you all the luck in the world. I had to have my tubes tied for medical reasons but I have always regretted the decision. I was lucky in that I was able to adopt but that is of course not the same thing.
Find a good doctor and at least go for the first consultation. Get the facts and then you can make an educated decision.
Again, good luck!
Love and Blessings

It depends on the kind of tubal you had to begin with. If your tubes were cut and tied off, then no I don't think it'll happen but if your tubes were clipped, then there is an off chance the clip has slightly moved for whatever reason - although this is extremely rare. Your best bet is to go back to your doctor and reverse the tubal ligation. I don't know if insurance will cover this as this is an elective procedure.

God i hope not, i just had my tied LOL.... I would say go to the doctor and have a ultrasound done (which i'm sure they will do if you tell them your concern to see if they need to do surgery to untie them) If they need untied that's what they'll have to do if you want to get pregnant... sorry, i know its frusterating but that's pretty much all you have to go on.... As with insurence, this probly dosn't help you unless your military but i know that if i wanted a reversal they will pay for it. So if military insurence (which has to be one of the worst LOL) will pay for a reversal then there has to be insurence out there that will..... Good luck!

I know someone who had twins after their tubes were tied, but it was not on purpose. You have about a 1% chance, so you'd need to go to the doctor to ask about it.

The only way to get pregnant without surgery is ivf or surrogacy both of which aren't cheap. Good luck.

It is possible for tubes to come untied on their own. But unless this happens then I think surgery will be required to untie or reconnect them in order to conceive.
