I blame you for trying to trick blacks into thinking that "it's soooo wrong to think about slavery"

Why dont you move on and stop dwelling about Jesus?

You dont need that "load". Move on

You see how stupid that sounds?

Dwelling leads to learning
Learning leads to recovery

How many blacks are educated on the phychological affects of slavery?

Not many

So, I dont think we're ready to "MOVE ON"

Hey dude calm down this is 2006. All the slaves are dead. And who the hell are you to throw off your beliefs on someone else? Get a life. I am black as hell and I don't ever think about what they did 100 years ago. Not even during Black History month.

I am not guilty. I don't take responsibility for what others have done. I take responsiblity for what I do...and I have always been a person that accepted people if they were good no matter the color, religion, etc.

I don't expect people to ever forget the history of slavery. I do however, expect that Blacks rise above it. Slavery was very complex, blacks sold others black into slavery, whites got involved, etc. It still exists today, blacks were not the first group to have experienced slavery, nor will they be the last, unfortunately.

I believe to educate others so that this does not happen in the furture, is the way to heal the wounds. There is still too much discrimination, racism, etc. that exists, so there is much work to do.

You know what?
I'm Hispanic/white my ancestors are Hispanic and I was born in America... I'm not racist, I don't mean to offend any one.
Why must you bring Jesus in your conversation? You are clearly in need of him,if you mentioned him without a cause.. hhmmm.. I feel in my heart that he has been trying to catch your attention for a while, why do you continue to ignore him?
Besides that, back to your "question" ever since i can remember "SOME" black people continue to argue about the slavery which was something of the past that was no- good, something WAS done about it then and it is not around any more !! I truly believe if SOME of those black people that continue to dwell on it just STOP and MOVE ON then things would be different. Slavery did nothing good for you.. SO MOVE ON ITS OVER.
JESUS did Great things FOR ALL OF US therefore we will not get over it. You want to hang on to some thoughts well, find POSITIVE ONES and work your way through. I think the reason why people have told you those things is because you bring it upon yourself, Its OK to talk about slavery for it is something of the past that happened to your culture, so that's fine... talk about it all you want, but please stop dwelling on it, it will bring you nothing good slavery is no excuse for anything now-a days because its over its been over, and I'm sure it will never happen again. :)

Ok once again, In 1856 the slaves were freed from the confines of their masters as it should have never happened in the first place. That generation had no education at all, the next generation survived with little education, and this continued until the `1900's when schools were established for black students but they were very poor schools in all ways, by the 1950's many people were dissatisfied with that system of desegregation and insisted on change which happened, then black and white children went to school together, the next generation had many college graduates, the next generation had many many college graduates and more education and finally we are to now- It seems to me that blacks are dwelling on what happened to their ancestors as a way of "proving " that they should get reparations for slavery. I say today that in this modern world the black race as a whole in the US has created a new kind of slavery -poverty. Because men and women are not raising the children to be educated young men and women but rather underwear showing, droopy pants wearing(or pajamas for the girls), cursing and listening to violent music children most of whom cant speak English as the ebonics they speak are so ingrained. Then you cant figure out why your boys and girls cant find a job and have children they dont take care of. So maybe today you should worry about today and be thankful for the changes that make it possible for you to let your children grow up uneducated.

Whites have been slaves to the Romans. At times there were more slaves in Rome than citizens. At the time of black slavery here in the US our grandparents were worse than slaves under the monarchs of Europe. After all, a slave cost a lot of money- - - - poor citizens were considered less than garbage.
That was three or four generations ago. The whites don't keep harping on something that their grandparents has to put up with.
I'm sure not trying to get you to not think about slavery. Actually, I don't care what you think about. For me, I don't harp on how tough my grandparents had it. That was then - - this is now.
You may not be ready to MOVE ON , but many of your buddies moved up to be billionaires. They're not worrying about slavery. I wonder if Oprah, Tiger, and the hundreds of sports stars wish their ancestors had remained in the jungles of Africa.
In many ways, it was the lucky ones who were brought over. They had regular meals, far less disease, no fear of wild animals.
The US bought land in Africa ( Liberia ) for those who wanted to return to Africa. Very few went.
Instead of whining, why don't you listen to Bill Cosby and do something constructive instead of a couple of centuries of belly-aching ?

why are you so bitter? You act like Black people were the only ones in this world that were wronged so many years ago. Well I have news for you, listen up cuz I am only going to say this once....that is not the case, Natives (aborigionals as they are called here in canada) have been wronged, italians, scottish, irish, french, really every race has in someway been wronged.
andyou are wrong, dwelling does not seek to learning, it leads to bitterness, ignorance, and lack of healing. To dwell means to linger or to delay. I say this leads to ignorance because when you dwell you focus your energy on that one particular incident therefore rendering it inpossible to see anything else.

I'm not guilty; I have moved forward and so should you. As long as we keep separating races, there will be racism. As long as we keep saying that we live in the past, there will be racism no matter who was at fault because the fact of the matter is that our ancestors were all at fault. And as long as you continue to bring the past up, we will still live in the past - move forward my friend and let Jesus rule your life and not the past. Thank you for your question.

I like your point and i tend to agree on the the slavery aspect but i think the reason why we keep brining it up is because there are some key "black spokesman" who keep shoving it in our face. And if anybody black person wants to complain about it they dont have anyone to blame but themselves it was the black people who sold black people to the white man. people so easily forget that point

I'm white. I don't give a crap what my ancestors did. I know what I am doing and how I am going to raise my children and you should try to do the same. The past is the past. Also, you are an individual. Don't assume you think for all black people, just as I don't assume I represent "whites".

I appreciate that you are not blaming white people for what our ancestors did to your ancestors. Because it really was not us who were in those things. For example, I am not a slave master and you are not a slave.

We all should move on. That was almost 200 years ago.
