It used to not be like that. You used to be able to vote for whoever in whatever party.

My sister registerd Independent and only Rebuplican info popped up.

When I went to vote I took my card out the machine and asked why is only the partys info showing up and she told me only the party you registered under will have the info on the screen.

That shouldn't be the case, unless you accidentally selected to vote party-line. It doesn't matter what party you are registered under, you can vote for any party (at least in the general election). I'd be a little more careful next time or ask questions.

Re-register as an little-i independent. Then the state can't assume anything about you.
