I understand that if not washed gently, thread, elastic will start coming out even in brand new socks, just after one wash. Expert opinion please.

Yes it is true it will make oyur socks last much longer and keep their shape. I am still wondering about the dryer though no matter what I do I still seem to lose a sock in there somewhere.

I HAVE to wash my husband's socks on the normal cycle because gentle just doesn't do it. His are crunchy and yellow when they go in (alone) with bleach and detergent, and they come out...well, not white, but WAY better.

I wash mine and my husband's socks on a 40 cycle and they have always been OK.

omg they are sock just wash them. if you want come wash mine if i get a pair the same i am happy and i wear them once wash them so i wash mine alot
