It was left to me by a world renowned musician and i only recently realised what it does. Its a pyramid shape, made of wood and it has an arm that come out and swings from side to side making a loud ticking sound. The arm has a tiny weight that can slide up and down to adjust how long it takes between clicks.
What is this thing called?!?!

Your tick-tocker (I love that description!) Is a metronome! Thats incredible that it was left to you by a renowned musician. You probably know what it does, but it helps you keep time when playing music.

A metronome. Don't confuse this with a Metrognome, which is a new breed of male garden gnome who is highly conscious of his appearance and likes to spend huge amounts of money in an attempt to look good.

Unlike traditional normal gnomes, the Metrognome regularly shaves his facial hair, sometimes just leaving small patches of hair below his chin. They rarely wear the brightly coloured, ill-fitting clothes of the normal gnome, instead going for fitted, fashionable clothing.
