There are many possible explanations. The biggest thing that people don't understand about aquariums is that fish need to be introduced into them slowly. Fish excrete waste, and bacteria need to build up in the tank that will convert that waste into nitrogen. Fish need to be in the tank for those bacteria to begin to multiply, but It takes time for those bacteria to build up. So you need to introduce fish slowly at first, one or two at a time over a period of a few weeks.
If you have done that, other possibilities are:
1) There is another fish that is killing your new fish. Watch the tank and see if someone is being a bully.
2) Check that the temperature is 72-78 degrees.
3) Make sure the pump/filter is working properly so the fish have enough oxygen.
4) Never put tap water into a tank directly. Always let is sit for 24 hours so the chlorine can evaporate.
5) Disease is a possibility but unlikely. Look for bumps or white spots on the fishes skin.
6) Feed the fish only a small amount (what they can eat in a few minutes) several times a day.
7) Make sure you are not putting salt water fish in a freshwater tank or vice versa.
8) Don't over crowd the tank. No more than 1 inch of fish per two gallons of water.
That should cover it.

u need to check the water temp, Ph levles. HOw long have u had the tank, if its just a new tank (less than a year old) its sometimes hard to keep fish. make sure there is not too many in the tank, also make sure none of them are fighting.i had some fish get eaten! :( What i would personally do, is when my last fish dies, dump ALL the H2O out rinse EVERYTHING with HOT HOT HOT HOT water. when i say everything i mean everything, rock several times, the tank inside AND out, and all the decorations. EVERTHING! let it run for a good week to week and a half, then just get one fish, the next week or so another. do it slowly, finally u will have FISH! LOL \
Have fun, and good luck!!~~**~~

First, make sure your water is conditioned by making sure the chlorine is removed. Also, if you have an aquarium you need to buy a treatment called Cycle. It helps age the tank with good bacteria to help increase the life of your fish. I used to have the same problem as you, but after using the Cycle I haven't had a fish die in at least 3 months. Also, it helps to keep the water clear. Another thing, make sure that you are not overfeeding. If your fish doesn't consume all the the food within a minute then you are feeding too much.

hi what i thik u should do it just start your tank all over.. a frush start..wash everything with hot wanter and then dry it off and set it up the way u want it add water add water condishner, let set for a week with filter running and start off with some tetras 9they are strong fish) - that os if u have a heater.. if not only fish that are ok with out heaters are gold fish.,..after you have your tank set up tank a water sample to a petstore that will teast it for free (petco) or u can buy a test kit and see how everythign is in the water and go from there...
if u have a petso near u go there and ask them for a care sheet on how to set of a frush water tank,.. Then u also can ask them why they think your fish are dying.. it matters on size of fish and tank and the set up as well.. that can be one of the things that might be macking your fish die.. Hope i helped a lil good luck!~!
p.s idk who is putting that some things ae not right when they are 6 people are very right,,..(worked with fish for4 years in petstore and 10 years on my own)

Did you immediatly but the fish into the tank along with your other fish?
That's your mistake. You should first measure the pH of the water that the store gives you and then make a quarantine tank with that pH. Place the fish in that tank and gradually change the pH to the pH of your main tank.
Finally, your fish should be ready to be transferred to your main tank.
Remember, always add stress coat.

try not buying any fish 4 2 weeks. let the tank become established w/ bacteria. and never completely change the water, or or rinse the substrate/gravel, thats where the majority of waste consuming bacteria are. if necsesary do a partial water change about 1/2 every other week

The only answer i can give is the same as Matthew S.That is right on point. But make sure the Air pump and Filter is big enough for the tank. And what kind of fish do you have.If they are any kind of Goldfish, then make sure you have a good filter.Because they let out alot of ammonia.
