..like if I want to vote Dem. for senate but Rep. for congress..can ya do that?

of course not.. you are voting for two different people in two different positions... so no they won't cancel eachother out..that's great that you voted the way you thought would be best.. a lot of people just vote Democrat or Republican- the best way is to vote for the person you would think would do the best job regardless of party :)

Of course you can! I did, but the opposite! I voted for a Republican for Senate and a Democrat for House of Representatives because in my opinion, they were each the best person for their particular offices.

They do not cancel eachother out, and you certainly do not have to vote a straight party ticket.

Vote for the best person in each case. Don't vote for the party, vote for the person.

Get out and vote!

You vote for the person, their party tells you how they stand on some issues, but each candidate will have his or her own standings. I voted for both parties, all down the ballot, when I thought one or the other would do a good job.

Yes you can do that. You are voting for two different branches of the government, they won't cancel each other out

i don't go by party, i vote for the best candidate, i just did that. bhanu, USA
