If you want this dress then you should wear it! How about a wrap or Pashmina to keep warm, they can be beaded as well with the colour of your choice! Autumnal colours would look nice I think but really you should choose the colour YOU like.

Good luck!

What about putting a really dramatic cloak (think Scottish Widows) over to top. That would make it look lovely and Wintry, plus you'll feel like a real princess sweeping about the place.

Or replace the ribbon with a silver one and get some silver or grey boots for a nice Christmas kind of feel.

But whatever you do, remember as the bride you will automatically be the most beautiful person in the room - its the law!

I am getting married in December and I have a strapless dress, I have bought a feather wrap from Next to wear when I am outside. It has a long ribbon which ties it at the front but I am going to replace that with a hook and eye.

Have you thought of a shrug? Something white and textured would be lovely. Maybe a lovely angora knitted shrug or even a white sequined shrug or even a white bolero jacket.

A longer white fluffy coat or cardigan would also do the trick, especially if teemed with gloves.

Coloured jewellery would look lovely - pick something to bring out the colours in your eyes - a sapphire, topaz or emerald for example - haven't got any? Something borrowed! Just make sure you invite the owner along as security!

What colour is the ribbon? get one of those wide scarfs/wrap the same colour as the dress or ribbon (if it isn't white) or the same as your accessories with the fluff around its edge. Another one that I actually saw a couple of years ago in Paris, the bride was wearing a hat similar to the Russian type (white), and scarf towards the back. It looked extremely elegant, classy and unique.
Cogratulations and good luck!

How about a fitted blazer-style jacket or swing jacket (they're everywhere at the moment) to give you a 50s feel? Smart enough to wear over the top without looking too wrapped up. You could then take it off when you're inside without losing much. Any autumnal colours like brown or deep red would be suitable but remember it's still your wedding so you could just go for matching white or cream! Check out topshop.com for their jackets.

How about taking your dress to a dailor or dress making and getting some beads/sequins etc. added to it? You could buy a lovely wrap/shrug to wear over it - perhaps something in fake fur to keep you warm. Look at www.confetti.co.uk for some ideas as they are bound to have winter themed weddings in the magazines at the moment. Good luck and have a wonderful day with a wonderful dress.
