I recently bought a rat as a pet. It's the first rat that I've ever owned and I'm not sure of their behaviors. When it's being pet sometimes, it wags her tail. It's not just a back and forth motion, the whole thing looks like a snake. Is it pissed off or scared? Or is it actually enjoying it?

It's probably feeling some strong emotion. My guess would be either fear or happiness. Work on you relationship. Rats are smart and will understand that you're their friend if you handle them a lot. Make sure that you're not squeezing it too tight. But don't worry. Relax a little around it and it'll solve itself. Young rats are very sturdy until about a year old. If it gets worse, consult a vet. But unless it starts doing it all the time, it's probably fine.

I don't know if it's mad or happy but it wag it's tail because the brain control the tail just like it control any other body part.

Hell if I know, but that would scare me. Go buy the book on rats at Petco or something.
